The Left Pushing Socialism/Communism Via Virus Panic - Part 2

This is what we are seeing from the Left, all in response to this overblown"crisis".  The governor of Virginia tried to close a shooting range.  The pope is demanding obedience to being locked down like prisoners.  YouTube is censoring videos of doctors stating we need to re-open.  The mayor of New York and his wife are out disregarding rules he demands others follow.  A Mississippi mayor is suspending open carry. The governor of Illinois tried to extend lockdown orders.  Parts of each article included here, full articles at the links:

Judge: Ralph Northam Lacks Authority to Close Indoor Gun Range During Coronavirus Shutdown

Yeatts ruling came in Lynchburg Range and Training v. Ralph Northam, a case brought by Lynchburg Range and Training after Northam refused to recognize indoor gun ranges as essential businesses. The result was that indoor gun ranges had to close during the statewide shutdown.
Northam allowed outdoor ranges to remain open and responded to the suit by claiming Virginians who wanted to shoot could simply use an outdoor range instead of one indoors. But Yeatts noted, “The Governor failed to provide evidence that there are any outdoor gun ranges in Lynchburg, which has an ordinance that allows the discharge of firearms only at approved gun ranges.”
Yeatts noted the Court could not find an outdoor gun range inside Lynchburg city limits either and pointed out “the right to keep and bear arms is not relegated to the outskirts of the city” to begin with.

Pope Francis Calls for ‘Obedience’ to State Lockdowns

ROME — Pope Francis urged obedience to state lockdown measures Tuesday, just 36 hours after Italian bishops reproached the government for refusing to allow public worship.
“At this time, as indications emerge for a way out of quarantine, we pray that the Lord will grant us the grace of prudence and obedience to these indications, so that the pandemic does not return,” the pontiff said in a daily tweet.

YouTube Censors Video of California Doctors Calling for Reopening of Country

YouTube has taken down a video of two doctors from Bakersfield, California, who held a press conference calling for the reopening of the country. According to the Google-owned video platform, the doctors “violated community guidelines.”
The doctors, Dan Erickson and Artin Massihi, operate out of an urgent care clinic in Bakersfield. Citing fatality statistics in California, the doctors argued that the Chinese virus has proven less deadly than anticipated.
“We have 39.5 million people, if we just take a basic calculation and extrapolate that out, that equates to about 4.7 million cases throughout the state of California,” said Dr. Erickson. “Which means this thing is widespread, that’s the good news. We’ve seen 1,227 deaths in the state of California with a possible incidents or prevalence of 4.7 million. That means you have a 0.03 chance of dying from COVID-19 in the state of California.”

‘Selfish’ Bill de Blasio, Wife Heckled for Taking Walk in Prospect Park (full article)

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, along with his wife Chirlane McCray, traveled to Brooklyn’s Prospect Park over the weekend, where they took a stroll and were heckled by locals in the area.
While de Blasio and his wife wore protective face coverings, one local who filmed the couple walking through the park on Saturday considered their outing to be “nonessential travel.”
Darren Goldner, the local who filmed the video, scolded de Blasio and his wife for having four of their SUV security entourage vehicles to escort them to the park eleven miles away from their residence.
“Seriously, you guys have a park. You live in a park,” Goldner said as he filmed the couple. “You don’t need to non-essentially travel to Brooklyn. Come on you won’t even open roads for people of all backgrounds. I’m not going to give it a break. This is selfish behavior.”
De Blasio and his family reside in Gracie Mansion, which is reserved for New York mayors and is located on the Upper East Side inside Carl Schurz Park. Before moving to Gracie Mansion in 2014, de Blasio resided in Park Slope, Brooklyn, which is near Prospect Park.
Amid Goldner’s remarks, aides attempted to slow Goldner down in an attempt to prevent him from obtaining footage of de Blasio in the park. As Goldner filmed de Blasio, the mayor raised his hand dismissively and said, “Come on guys, give it a break.”
“This is so terribly selfish,” Goldner continued. “You call yourself a progressive, but you chauffeur yourself to Brooklyn, you force people to drive you. This is ridiculous. This is the epitome of nonessential travel.”
As of this week, New York state has reported more than 291,000 cases of the deadly coronavirus and 17,303 deaths. A great majority of the cases were reported from New York City, which had over 163,000 cases as of Monday.

Mississippi Mayor Suspends Open Carry During Coronavirus Crisis (full article)

Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba (D) of Jackson, Mississippi, issued an order over the weekend temporarily prohibiting law-abiding citizens from openly carrying handguns during the coronavirus crisis.
The Clarion-Ledger reports that Mississippi adopted open carry in 2013 and Y’all Politics quotes Lumumba claiming that “child deaths by firearms in the South have increased 72 percent.”
In issuing the order, Lumumba said:
The Open Carry law interferes with law enforcement’s ability to take illegal guns off of the streets. Prior to the Open Carry law, when Jackson police officers saw a gun in plain view, it gave them the probable cause to seize the weapon and determine whether it was an illegal weapon or not. The Open Carry law not only provides protection for individuals who are armed with illegal weapons; it creates an atmosphere of fear and intimidation in the community. We cannot continue to turn a blind eye to the fact that the Open Carry law has led to an increase in gun violence in our communities.
He said, “Sending thoughts and prayers to the families who have lost loved one to senseless gun violence is not enough.” He stressed that “action” is required.
Lumumba then signed an executive order suspending open carry “during the [coronavirus] civil emergency.”

Judge Rules Against Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s Lockdown Extension

A judge on Monday ruled against Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) by issuing a restraining order over the extension of his stay-at-home order, which was implemented as part of an effort to blunt the spread of the Chinese coronavirus.
Clay County Circuit Court Judge Michael McHaney handed down the restraining order to temporarily pause lockdown rules scheduled to commence Friday.
