Rules of Behavior

While I encourage free speech and lively debate, I also understand that we need to have some simple rules for behavior, that all can respect, so our discussions don't become unproductive or abusive.  So, to that end, here are some basic rules:

1. Be polite.  Address the topic, not the poster, and try to avoid personal attacks.

2. No adult content.  Period.  No racy photos, no links to anything that would be considered porn, no explicit comments.  If a topic calls for a mention of sexual activity, that's one thing, but keep it as clean as possible, please.

3. Regarding so-called "hate speech" - You can post facts about a group of people, as those pertain to the topic, but please avoid deliberately insulting terms, and I will  not tolerate any sorts of threats against any group.  Discussing crime rates would be fine, or issues with police, etc., but keep it civil.

4. When discussing religion, be sure to discuss the religious group, and try to avoid getting personal.  We can disagree on what we believe and still be polite about it.

5. No threats.

6. No doxxing.  Basically, to dox someone is to deliberately expose personal information on that person online. Don't do it.  These blogs are meant for discussion, not for targeting anyone.  If you aren't mature enough to refrain from attacking someone over an online post, this isn't the place for you.

7. Links are welcome, as they pertain to the subject, as are pictures and memes.  No spam, though, please.

8. No trolling, no flame wars.  Posts that are meant to inflame, to derail a conversation, to attack other posters, etc, will not be tolerated, and will likely result in the troll being blocked.  While I welcome debate, open hostility isn't welcome.  Disagree all day long, but keep it civil.

This is a basic list.  If you feel something is missing, feel free to comment on that, and I will consider it. Overall, just make an effort to be polite, and we will all be just fine.
