Texas Church Shooting Heroes and Their Thoughts on Gun Control

Two cases, two shooters stopped, two brave men willing to do what was needed to save lives, and two cases that show very clearly the need for people to be able to be armed and ready to defend. The first case was on November 5, 2017, and many lives were lost, because no one was at the location to top the shooter. The man who did stop him did so as he was trying to get to another target, from what we are told. The second case was just lat month, December 29, 2019, and that shooter was stopped much faster, because that time there were armed people who could do something as soon as he began his attack. In both cases, armed citizens acted to stop these attackers, who would surely have done a lot more harm had those men not been prepared and armed and able to defend their communities. Here are the articles, with the thoughts and opinions of these two heroes:

TX Church Hero: None of Government’s Business What Kind of Gun I Use

Stephen Willeford, the hero who ended the November 5, 2017, Texas church shooting with an AR-15, spoke at the January 20, 2020, Virginia 2A rally in opposition to an AR-15 ban.
Willeford told the Washington Free Beacon’s Stephen Gutowski that he “absolutely” would have been at a disadvantage against the church shooter had he not been able to use an AR-15.
He said, “The attacker had Class 3 body armor,” describing it as a step above what many police departments use. The attacker’s armor meant Willeford had “a very clear disadvantage to start with,” and it meant Willeford would have to choose his shot to end the attack.
Willeford said, “I hit him a couple of times in his body armor and it didn’t stop him, but he felt it. Then when he turned to his side I could see where it [strapped] across form the front to back and I aimed for that spot and I hit him in the side and I hit him in the legs.”
Willeford summed up his action again the attacker by saying, “On a moving target that was shooting at me those are pretty good shoots, and i’m not sure I could have done that with a pistol.”
“It’s none of the government’s business at all what I use to defend my life, my family, [and] my friends,” he said.

Church Shooting Hero Jack Wilson: ‘Without the Second Amendment, You Will Lose All of Your Rights’

Turning Point USA (TPUSA) released a video on Sunday featuring an exclusive interview with Texas church hero as Jack Wilson, who took down an active shooter at the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, Texas, on December 29, 2019.
“Without the Second Amendment, in my opinion — very strongly — you will lose all of your rights,” said Wilson in the interview. “The firearm is not the evil thing, the person behind it is either good or evil. It’s not a firearm issue, it is a person issue.”
Wilson — who was awarded The Governor’s Medal of Courage by Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) last week — noted that, “from the time the individual turned with the gun in his hand, to when it was over was a total of six seconds.”
Watch below:
“When the individual came into the building, it was obvious that he did have a wig and a fake beard on,” said Wilson. “We were watching the individual. I had gone into the audio-visual room and actually had them put a camera — one of the cameras specifically on the individual, just to observe and watch.”
“The individual got up and went back and talked briefly to Tony, and that’s when he turned with the shotgun,” he added. “He had pulled a shotgun out of his pocket, or coat — and then by that time, Richard and I were both drawing our firearms.”
Wilson went on to recall what had happened next.
Richard told him, “Drop the gun, drop the gun.” He shot Richard, immediately turned and shot Tony Wallace. I had people in front of me that prevented me from taking a body shot — a torso shot — and the only shot I had was the head shot. When I took the head shot, the subject went down. From the time the individual turned with the gun in his hand, to when it was over was a total of six seconds.
“It doesn’t start at that moment that you need to be able to protect yourself,” said Wilson. “You have to learn to use a firearm that you’re comfortable with, become proficient with it, train with it.”
“God gave me the training, gave me the mindset to be able to stop the situation,” said Wilson. “We are all in mourning for the loss of Richard and Tony, and the congregation is in mourning for them, and also trying to understand and deal with what happened.”
“But I don’t feel like I killed an individual,” he added. “I killed evil. I took out evil.”

Thank God for these two men, and also for all who will defend others, and address the evils of this world.  These men are correct, guns are not evil; some people who use them are, and you don't resolve that by taking guns from good people.   And it's not the business of the government what gun we own.  Period.  Unless nd until we use one in the commission of a crime, they have no say in the matter.  Any tool can be used for evil, but we don't place controls on all tools because of that.  They want controls on guns because guns can also be used to defend against a government turned evil.  Never forget that.  Without the right to bear arms, we will have no rights at all.  History has proven this.
